The Skills Development Training Program:

Over 300 rural women of Kashi were offered intense training at the Adani Skill Development Center. After three months of training, these women from the Sewapuri area have become self-reliant. The women are mainly housewives from the different villages of Sewapuri. As part of the training program, the women were taught about the various aspects of agarbatti manufacturing, including marketing, packaging, and logistics. This not only helped them earn a source of livelihood but also encouraged them to take up entrepreneurial ventures in the upcoming years.

Presently, the women from Sewapuri are manufacturing their products under Kashi Prerna Saksham Manufacturing Company Limited. This company produces different varieties of agarbattis to suit the market demand. The Adani Foundation has set a benchmark for itself by empowering women. The foundation is also planning on making more women employable by 2024. This is an extraordinary move taken up by the Adani Group towards changing society for the better. This move has proved to the world, the Group’s commitment towards bringing about social welfare. The noble initiatives the conglomerate took have also allowed it to rise above the controversies related to the Adani CBI investigation.

Adani Skill Development Center: Driving Skill Development in India

Adani Skill Development Center is basically a non-profit initiative of the Adani Foundation. It operates with the spirit of women's empowerment. The centre has mainly focused on the skill development of women in four specific areas: shoemaking, sweater making, tailoring, and incense and incense stick making. A special team of professionals is training the women. This will not only help make women self-reliant but will also pave the way towards women's empowerment. 

The centre's training hub is also adopting many advanced processes and techniques. This includes mobilising, sensitising, and enrolling the women in different skills development programs. With the skills acquired, the women will have no trouble obtaining a source of livelihood for themselves. They will no longer have to depend solely on men to earn money. Instead, they can also become earning members of their families and contribute to society's overall growth.
