NACIONAL FRIDAYA MEX Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

NACIONAL FRIDAYA MEX

Originally released for the Nintendo DS by the creator of the hit Ace Attorney series, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective had you play as Sissel, the game’s freshly dead protagonist. You’d use his newfound ghostly powers, under the guidance of a sentient lamp named Ray, to rewind time and possess inanimate objects to get to the bottom of the night’s events that resulted in his (sadly irreversible) death.

Now, 13 years later, Capcom has updated the game with a sharper look, smoother movement and additional scenarios. The controls feel just as comprehensive without the signature DS touch screen, and — as before — the puzzles strike a good balance between engaging and frustrating. It’s also a blast to see how your actions directly impact the timeline, causing different outcomes each time it loops. This remake of Ghost Trick resets the clock on a cult classic and gives the dead a new lease on life. — Tre Watson, broadcast recording technician
