Visakhapatnam Proudly Cheers for India's Representatives in the Asian Games

Visakhapatnam, September 24, 2023 - The city of Visakhapatnam is filled with enthusiasm as it rallies behind three young girls who will represent India in the Asian Games. These three girls, namely Jyothi Yarraji, Akula Sai Samhitha, and Greeshma, all hail from this city, and high hopes are pinned on their performance in this prestigious sporting event.

This Asian Games marks a historic moment for the people of Visakhapatnam, who have come together to support their local representatives. Jyothi Yarraji, known as a women's hurdles sensation, has garnered special attention from sports enthusiasts and local sports authority officials alike. She has made a name for herself in a short span and is often referred to as the "P.T Usha of Andhra Pradesh." Her recent gold medal win at the Asian Athletes Championship has earned her nationwide fame.

Sai Samhitha, at 18 years old, and Greeshma, a 14-year-old 10th-grade student, will be representing India in freestyle artistic skating. Sai Samhitha expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, albeit with some nervousness. Her father, Akula Pavan Kumar, a National Coach, has great confidence that his daughter will bring honor to the nation in the Asian Games. Sai Samhitha has been training in skating since the age of four under her father's guidance and has achieved numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals in various district, state, national, and international competitions.

Their achievements have also received national recognition, with Sai Samhitha being awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in 2020 for her outstanding contributions to sports.

Renowned Indian Coach P. Satyanarayana, who is Greeshma's trainer, stated that their preparations have been going well. He added that it is a great honor for Greeshma and Sai Samhitha to represent India at such a young age, and they are the only representatives from the entire country. There is strong confidence that they will shine in the Asian Games.

June Gallyot, District Sports Officer, expressed their faith in the hard work of these three girls. She hopes that they will achieve remarkable success in the Asian Games and bring home medals for India.

The people of Visakhapatnam unite in a spirit of pride and support for their three representatives in the Asian Games. All eyes are on their stellar performances, which are expected to carve a new chapter in Indian sports history.
